Throughout his photographic career, Yamazaki has been obsessed with the beauty of the sun, devoting three separate series to the subject. This photograph comes from the series The Sun Is Longing for the Sea, in which Yamazaki utilized long exposure times and extremely dark filters on his camera lens to record the path of the sun as it moved across the sky.
